FDLA Concludes New York Fashion Week SS27 With a Multi Day Celebration of Latin American Fashion Culture & Global Talent

FDLA brought together designers for 5 days of runway shows, cultural experiences, editorial celebrations and industry activations throughout New York City.

NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, September 16, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Fashion Designers of Latin America (FDLA) concluded its New York Fashion Week SS/2027 season following five days of programming across New York City, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to creating an international platform for established and emerging Latin American designers.

Taking place September 11–15, the FDLA calendar extended beyond the traditional runway format, bringing together fashion, culture, media, commerce and community through a series of events at venues including El Cielo NY, Lavan Midtown, The Theater at United Palace, INNSiDE by Meliá New York Nomad and Marcas Latam Showroom.

The season opened September 11 with an intimate cocktail reception and presentation featuring renowned Spanish designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, setting the tone for a week centered on creativity, color and international exchange.

On September 12, FDLA celebrated the release of the September issue of FDLA Spotlight Magazine, the organization’s official editorial platform, during an exclusive gathering at INNSiDE by Meliá New York Nomad featuring Sofia Vergara as Cover.

Latin American Designers Take the Runway
September 13 marked one of the season’s largest runway programs at Lavan Midtown, beginning with PUENTE Internacional, presented by Bogotá Chamber of Commerce. The presentation highlighted Bogotá-based brands Ciento Cinco Lunares, Tan Basicx, Clarissa Rosania, Day Moda Sostenible, Franchi e Punto and OVAT, bringing Colombian creativity and entrepreneurship to the New York Fashion Week stage.

The evening continued with FDLA’s international runway presentations featuring designers and brands representing multiple Latin American countries, including Starling de Holma of the Dominican Republic, Ashley Stambouli of Venezuela, Jaspe by Vito of Guatemala, Idol Jose of Venezuela, Mónica Schuster of Colombia, Eugenia Lemos of Chile, GIPCCO of Argentina, Carlos Sierra of Venezuela and Virgilio Madinah of Colombia.
Together, the presentations reflected the diversity of contemporary Latin American design—from emerging labels and independent creative voices to designers expanding their presence within the international marketplace.

FDLA Takes Over the Historic United Palace
On September 14, FDLA moved uptown to The Theater at United Palace for its closing Immersive Runway and Performance Show, bringing fashion into one of New York City’s most distinctive cultural spaces.

The evening featured The Life of Giannina Azar, transforming the traditional runway experience through fashion and piano performance by Maria del Sol while celebrating the work of the Dominican designer before an audience that extended beyond the fashion industry and into the surrounding New York community.

The United Palace program was preceded by an FDLA press event welcoming members of the media and industry.
For FDLA, bringing its closing event to Washington Heights represented an important part of the organization’s broader mission: connecting international Latin American fashion with the communities whose culture and heritage have helped shape New York City.

From Runway to Marketplace
The SS/2027 calendar concluded September 15 at Marcas Latam Showroom with the FDLA Buy the Runway popup event connecting participating brands with industry professionals and consumers.

The activation underscored an increasingly important component of FDLA’s work: creating opportunities that continue after designers leave the runway.
Through FDLA and Marcas Latam, its fashion showroom and commercial platform, the organization is working to connect Latin American brands with buyers, consumers and new opportunities in the United States and international markets.

The September season also reflected FDLA’s continued focus on collaboration across the fashion industry, media, cultural institutions, community organizations and international partners.

FDLA’s SS/2027 New York Fashion Week programming was supported by partners and collaborators including Marcas Latam, United Palace, Hispanic Federation, the Office of New York City Council Member Carmen De La Rosa, INNSiDE by Meliá New York Nomad, and participating institutional and venue partners.
